NYC ACT-SO 2016 Kick-off rally a success!

PHOTOGRAPHERThe 2016 Act-So Kick-Off Rally, a showcase and registration event held on January 30, was successful. The event, which welcomes new and returning students so that they may see what ACT-SO has to offer, was attended by 30 students along with teachers/coaches and parents. Midwood High School had the largest and most impressive showing. The students were treated to amazing performances by ACT-SO alumna Monica Soyemi, a three-time vocal Gold medalist. She excited the audience with a great classical piece. We had excellent piano, saxophone, vocal, and dance performances by 2015 medalists, Misha Seo, Juan Carpio, Rodney James-Spann, and Brian Pasian respectively.

PHOTOGRAPHERBrian spoke passionately to the students of the fulfilling life-time experience he had with ACT-SO, something he will never forget. He holds a national record for winning the most medals and over $10,000 in cash. He along with Monica encouraged the students to take advantage of the opportunity that ACT-SO provides. The students received door prizes of gift cards and ACT-SO T-Shirts. It was very positive start to the season.

We thank everyone who attended. Good luck at the competition in April!
